About Segurly

Segurly is a tenant marketplace for renting a home in Spain. People looking for a flat create one profile about themselves. Owners and agents find tenants who suit their flat — without publishing the flat anywhere.

Segurly started in October 2026 in Sitges, on the coast south-west of Barcelona.

Why Segurly exists

Segurly comes from looking for a flat in Sitges. Three things kept happening.

  • Good flats were gone within an hour. A well-priced listing on Idealista gets dozens of messages, and the agent picks a few by hand, mostly over WhatsApp. Being quick mattered more than being a good tenant.
  • Every agent asked for the same papers again. Payslips (nóminas), the work contract, bank statements — sent again and again, to people the tenant had never met, "for the insurance".
  • Many flats were never published. Owners in Spain fear tenants who stop paying and squatters (okupas), so many don't put their flat on the portals, or hide the exact address. Tenants never see that part of the market.

Segurly turns this around: instead of tenants chasing listings, the owner looks at tenants.

What Segurly solves

  • For tenants. Tell your story once and share one link instead of sending your documents to every agent. Owners who never publish their flats can find you.
  • For owners. Choose a tenant by who they are, not by who wrote first. Your flat is never shown to the public.
  • For agents. Instead of dozens of messages to filter by hand, see tenants who already fit the flat — where they want to live, when they move, what they can afford.

How it works

  1. A tenant creates a profile. A five-minute form: who will live in the flat, where and when they want to move, their work, and a few words about themselves. No documents are needed.
  2. An owner or agent finds tenants. They say where their flat is and see the tenants it suits. The flat itself is never published.
  3. Segurly introduces them. The tenant's contact is shared only with their consent.

What a profile shows

A profile shows the tenant's first name, who will live in the flat, what they are looking for, their work and a short text in their own words.

Next to each claim — such as a permanent contract or having no debts — the profile shows which official Spanish document can back it, for example the informe de vida laboral from Social Security or the CIRBE report from the Bank of Spain. Many of these documents carry a verification code (CSV), so anyone can open the original on the issuing body's website.

Principles

  • No surnames and no contact details on profiles. A profile shows a first name only.
  • Contact only with consent. An owner or agent gets in touch with a tenant only if the tenant agrees.
  • No filtering by personal traits. Owners cannot search tenants by origin, by whether they have children, or by similar personal characteristics.
  • No scores or ratings of people. A profile shows facts, not a number.
  • Your profile is yours. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
  • Flats stay private. Segurly never publishes an owner's flat.

What Segurly is not

  • Not an agency. Segurly does not rent out, show or manage flats.
  • Not a listing portal. There are no flats on Segurly — only tenants.
  • Not a credit bureau. Segurly does not score people or keep lists of debtors.

Where Segurly is today

As of October 2026.

  • The website segurly.com is live in Spanish, Catalan, English, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Russian and Ukrainian.
  • Tenants create profiles through a form; Segurly builds the profile page and sends them the link.
  • Owners and agents can browse profiles and ask for an introduction; introductions are made by hand.
  • Some profiles on the site are fictional examples, always marked "Example profile".
